Laurie Grosset
Artist | Filmmaker | Research-Based Practitioner

I am an artist and filmmaker working across documentary, fiction, installation, and research-based practices.
My work explores narrative structures, perception, memory, and the relationship between image, space, and thought. It moves between film, installation, and conceptual research, often developed through long-term inquiry and interdisciplinary dialogue.
Alongside my artistic production, I collaborate with cultural institutions, educational programs, and creative teams on the development of research-based, narrative, and visual projects.

PRACTICE
My practice unfolds at the intersection of:
• film and visual storytelling

• installation and spatial narratives

• artistic research and conceptual development

• teaching and pedagogical transmission
I approach each project as a process of inquiry, where form and meaning are developed simultaneously through experimentation and reflection.

Each project emerges from a specific research framework and evolves through collaboration, observation, and experimentation with form and narrative.

TEACHING & MENTORING
I regularly teach mise en scène, research, and creative development in film and art contexts.
I also mentor artists and creative practitioners in the development of their projects, focusing on narrative construction, methodology, and conceptual development.
Teaching is an integral part of my artistic practice and research approach.

APPROACH
I understand artistic practice as a space of thought as much as a space of production.
My work is driven by questions such as:
• How do narratives shape perception?

• How does the image construct meaning?

• How can artistic processes generate knowledge?

• How do fiction and reality continuously interact?
Each project is an exploration of these questions through form, image, and collaboration.
